Case Study

Warrington & Halton NHS Foundation Trust – Kendrick Wing Fire Reinstatment

Project Details

Following a large fire to the Kendrick Wing Ophthalmology Department we were appointed to coordinate the phased reinstatement works. A number of challenges including make-safe demolition works, reinstatement of a fire damaged roof and the refurbishment to internal fire damaged areas, within a live Hospital site.

Urgent re-occupation of the Ophthalmology Department was required tobring critical services back on-line. The works also included the reinstatement of critical life safety fire alarm and nurse call systems which presented challenges as existing systems needed to remain operational to provide sufficient levels of cover for the duration of the works. Further challenges related to the requirement to liaise with and settling the reinstatement element of the substantial insurance claim.
